Who we are

Our website address is: https://amitdebnath.com. We are a small team led by digital creator Amit Debnath based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. We produce guides, tutorials, and digital tools related to AI, design, and business. You can contact us through the form at https://amitdebnath.com/contact or via email (see “Contact information” below).

What personal data do we collect, and why do we collect it

Comments – When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user‑agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to display your avatar. Visitor comments may also be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Media uploads – If you upload images to the website, please avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS), because visitors can download and extract that data.

Contact forms – When you contact us through a form or email, we collect your name, email address, and the message itself. We use this information solely to respond to your enquiry. Contact form data is kept for six months and then deleted.

Newsletter sign‑ups – If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address and your consent. We use a third‑party email marketing provider (e.g., Mailchimp, Flodesk, or ConvertKit) to manage the list. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link provided in every email.

Account registration and purchases – If you create an account or purchase digital products in our shop, we collect personal data such as your name, billing and shipping addresses, email address, and payment details. Payment information is processed securely by our payment partners (e.g., Stripe or PayPal) and never stored on our servers. We retain order data for up to ten years for tax and legal purposes.

Analytics – To improve our content and user experience, we use analytics services (e.g., Google Analytics). These services collect anonymized data such as pages visited, time spent on pages, and technical device information. Analytics providers may set cookies; you can decline these cookies via our cookie banner.

Advertising and affiliate links – We display advertisements and affiliate links (for example, to Canva collections). Advertising networks (e.g., Google AdSense) may place cookies or similar technologies to deliver personalised ads and measure their effectiveness. Clicking an affiliate link may set a cookie to track referrals and assign commission. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these third‑party sites.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your computer or mobile device. We use a cookie consent tool that allows you to choose which non-essential cookies you accept.

  • Essential cookies support core functions such as security and login and do not store personal data.
  • Functional cookies enable extra features like social sharing.
  • Analytical cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our site.
  • Advertising cookies deliver personalised ads and measure ad performance.

By default, WordPress sets certain cookies. If you leave a comment, you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies for your convenience; these cookies last for one year. If you visit the login page, we set a temporary cookie to see if your browser accepts cookies, which contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. When you log in, we set cookies to save your login information and screen preferences; these last for two days to one year, depending on your settings. If you edit or publish an article, a cookie storing the post ID will be created and expires after one day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., YouTube videos or social media posts). Such embedded content behaves as if you visited the other website. Those websites may collect data about you, use cookies or third‑party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.

Embedded content from other websites

Suggested text: Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who do we share your data with

We only share your data when necessary.

  • Service providers: We work with hosting providers, email service providers, payment processors, analytics services, and spam‑detection providers who need access to personal information to perform their services. They may only use this data for the tasks we assign.
  • Affiliate programs and advertisers: If you click an affiliate link, a tracking code may be shared with the affiliate partner to credit sales. Advertising partners may receive anonymised data to deliver ads.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose personal data to comply with a legal obligation or an enforceable governmental request.
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long do we retain your data?

Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely to enable us to recognize and approve follow-up comments. For registered users, we store profile information until the user decides to edit or delete it. Contact form entries are retained for six months, analytics records for one year, and purchase records for ten years. When data is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.

What rights do you have over your data?

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you and ask us to erase it. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. To exercise these rights, please contact us.

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam‑detection service. We host and process data on servers located in Bangladesh and other countries. When personal data is transferred outside the European Union, we ensure appropriate safeguards (e.g., contractual clauses or Privacy Shield).

How we protect your data

We use technical and organisational measures to protect your data: secure servers, SSL/HTTPS encryption, up‑to‑date software, access controls, and two‑factor authentication. We limit access to personal data to authorised personnel only and provide staff training on data protection.

What data breach procedures do we have in place?

Should a data breach occur, we will investigate, notify affected users and regulatory authorities where required, and take steps to mitigate further harm.

What third parties do we receive data from

We may receive anonymised demographic or performance data from advertisers or analytics providers to help improve our services. We do not merge this information with personally identifiable data.

Automated decision making and profiling

We do not use your data to make automated decisions or profiling with significant legal or similar effect.

Industry regulatory disclosures

We are not part of a regulated industry and are not subject to additional sector‑specific privacy laws.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be posted here along with the revision date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
